This Epic DC Villain Might Debut In Suicide Squad 2 And We Can’t Just Wait To See

Suicide Squad was a fairly decent box office success for DCEU. Therefore, a sequel to it was quite obvious.

The film featured a range of DC characters such as Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney,  Divergent & Water Diviner), Deadshot (Will Smith, The Pursuit of Happyness & Seven Pounds), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman, RoboCop & Easy Money) , Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie, The Wolf of Wall  Street), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne, Anna Karenina & upcoming movie Pan),  Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye- Agbaje), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Slipknot (Adam Beach), Amanda Waller (Viola Davis, Prisoners  & The Help) and Joker (Jared Leto, Mr. Nobody & Dallas Buyers Club).

Suicide Squad was a cinematic adaptation of DC Comics created by John Ostrander. It featured a group of DC bad guys who are tasked by Amanda Waller to undertake a completely classified and deadly government mission with almost no chances of success.

Initially, we all thought that the leading villain was Joker, then we came to realize that since magic exists in DC Universe, it might be Enchantress. It turned out that both were a part of the movie and played their respective parts, but, there was no single lead villain. That’s the problem which the sequel will address by featuring one mega-villain.

Among the various under development films in the DCEU, Suicide Squad 2 is a film which is being actively produced. Sometime back, reports had come about WB having found the new director for the film. Gavin O’Connor (The Accountant) took over the reins of this DC version of Supervillain team up film’s sequel, from David Ayer. The movie’s shooting is supposed to start late this year, and it might release in early 2020.

Joining these characters, was Batman as well. Ben Affleck had played the role in the few flashback scenes involving Joker and Harley Quinn.

Now, all these characters will come back for the sequel and Jared Leto has also been confirmed to reprise his character of Joker. He is likely to have a much more prominent part to play in this film.

However, the latest reports reveal that a mega surprise is being kept under the wraps by WB for this film. A report has claimed that Suicide Squad 2 will be DCEU debut of the much-awaited Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson), who was earlier supposed to feature in Shazam! before appearing in a solo Black Adam film.

It is also reported that the production would start only after October, to make way for the busy schedule of Dwayne Johnson.

The star already has two films set to shoot, and those are Disney’s Jungle Cruise and the much controversial Fast & Furious spin-off that is in development with Jason Statham, and he might even feature in a potential season 5 of HBO’s show Ballers. However, during the last few years, Johnson has been doing a minimum three films a year, and it won’t be a big issue for him.

However, if this news is genuine, then it would make DC evaluate everything. If Black Adam debuts here, it might benefit or harm the movie and the character as well. It might be harmful considering the large number of characters already present, and it might steal the focus from other characters if such a big character is featured and the sequel might face the same scenario that Jared Leto’s Joker had to deal with in the first film.

It would be a better thing to feature Black Adam in a solo movie first as he is an iconic character and making him a part of the Suicide Squad might be an injustice to the character. Black Adam was a good guy, to begin with, but, he trod onto the dark path after suffering some tragedies. Such an introduction would be better than showing him as an outright villain.

It might benefit the film as well because it will tempt Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s entire fanbase to watch the film. And also the fact that the first film’s villain Enchantress has already introduced the magic part in the DCEU, Black Adam could easily fit into that mold.

This report has a fair chance of proving to be true because The Rock has already teased about a big Black Adam related surprise and he might have been talking about this. Therefore, it remains to be seen what the future has in store for Black Adam and Suicide Squad 2. Will he get a solo film or be a part of Suicide Squad 2 alongside Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jard Leto and others? No matter what the truth is, this might just be a great tactic by DC to create the buzz around the sequel to Suicide Squad.

Black Adam is an anti-hero who rules a country called Kahndaq like a dictator. He has no tolerance for crimes, threats or any small problems even. He is merciless, and he has been known to kill brutally. Let’s check out what makes Black Adam such a cruel enemy as is proven by the nastiest kills he has committed so far.

Aman, His nephew:

While this one might not be like the other kills on this list, but, the murder of Aman by Teth Adam was the nastiest of all killings committed by Black Adam. Teth Adam is a hell of an angry man and his wish to avenger his nephew’s murder overpowered his version of the greater good. No matter what, killing a harmless child is the cruelest of his killings till date.

Adrianna Tomaz:

During Black Adam’s brief run comic book, The Dark Age #2, Black Adam revived his dead wife by using the Lazarus Pit (the same that Batman uses). Black Adam had been grieving her sudden death for a number of years; therefore, for a brief time, it appeared as if this demi-God was once again going to enjoy marital bliss. It was all short-lived because they soon found out that her body was steadily decomposing and to avoid a nasty death, Black Adam had to kill her to reduce her pain.

Psycho-Pirate:

Black Adam has repeatedly displayed his lack of time for games. He pushed his fingers through the Psycho Pirate’s eyes and shoved his Medusa mask right through his head immediately after coming face to face with him. Psycho Pirate had been compromising Adam, and it eventually had led to his imprisonment by Alexander Luthor Jr.

A Yeti:

After his wife was killed the second time, Teth Adam had to leave the cave where the Lazarus Pit was, and he came across a Yeti. Zatanna and Captain Marvel had greatly reduced Adam’s powers, but, he showed that he still was mighty enough even in the absence of Shazam’s powers. He tore open the Yeti’s stomach and used his intestines to rappel downhill.

Sivana’s Assistant:

During DC’s New 52, Doctor Sivana became immersed in his quest to find Teth Adam. In Justice League #11, he and his excavation team located his tomb. All of a sudden they are faced with Black Adam who electrocuted Sivana’s assistant using a lightning bolt when he found that he wasn’t able to understand their language. This showed that he is impatient and intolerant. A ruler who doesn’t think twice about killing someone if he doesn’t see that person’s utility.

Apparently, it will be an awesome battle between The Suicide Squad and Black Adam. It is too difficult to wait to see that happen!
