Does A New Infinity War Photo Confirm Loki Siding With The Black Order?

Thor’s brother, Loki had a pretty rocky journey through the MCU, and the God of Mischief has been known to waver between the villain’s side and the hero’s side. When the fans had last seen Loki in Thor: Ragnarok, he was an ally of his brother, and they even worked together in order to defeat Hela, their sister. But we cannot be sure if things will be the same in the Infinity War movie.

The movie’s first trailer had shown Loki walking over some Asgardian bodies and handing over the Tesseract to someone (off-screen). Many theories seem to claim he was giving the Tesseract to Thanos. The latest trailer for the movie has now confirmed this theory as Loki stands among Thanos’ Black Order (Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, Cull Obsidian and Corvus Glaive). The next shot shows us Thanos breaking the Tesseract to reveal the Space Stone.

Yes, we just saw Loki standing with the Black Order so, can we assume that he has sided with the enemy?

Well, Loki always switched loyalties, and if Thanos and the Black Order do invade Asgard and the ship to find the Infinity Stone, Loki may actually hand over the Stone to Thanos.

One evidence seems to be pointing to the scenario, and it comes from the photo above. Proxima Midnight seems to be pointing her weapon at Loki, and maybe the Black Order is forcing Loki to forfeit the Tesseract.

So, even if Loki starts off Infinity War with the Black Order, it is not quite out of the possibilities that he will side with the Avengers towards the end of the movie. We had seen a similar turn in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World. Loki was in prison when the movie started and was released and teamed up with Thor against Malekith. Though we do not see Loki in Wakanda or Titan, it does not mean that he is not there.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Tom Hiddleston, Vin Diesel, and Josh Brolin.

This movie will release on April 27.
