You Will Never Get To See The ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy That JJ Abrams Has Written

JJ Abrams directed The Force Awakens, and he is aware that, as one cannot please everyone. Sure enough, while a few liked Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi, others have liked Abrams.

Abrams will now return for Episode IX in spite of a few oppositions and the replacement of Colin Trevorrow at the helm. What we did not know is that the co-creator of Lost and Fringe had written a version of Episode VIII before Johnson had come in.

Daisy Ridley (Rey) had thrown light on this in a recent interview with Geek le Mag:

“Here’s what I think I know,” Ridley said, “JJ wrote Episode VII, and the drafts for VIII and IX.

“I believe there was some general consensus on the main lines of the trilogy, but apart from that, every director writes and realizes the film in his own way. Rian Johnson and JJ Abrams met to discuss all of this, although Episode VIII is still his very own work. I believe Rian didn’t keep anything from the first draft of Episode VIII.”

Johnson has had a huge part to play when it comes to the Porgs in the movie and so can we assume that Abrams’ version may have featured a different species?

Can we also assume that there some signposts consistent across the drafts, or were these scripts very different and even being unrecognizable?
