Indiana Jones 5 Is Steven Spielberg’s Next Movie

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will turn 10 on May 22. This is a nice thought as we go back to the speculative reports about the prospective movie. The latest rumblings are indicating that Steven Spielberg is set to work on Indiana Jones 5.

Spielberg is juggling his promotional period for, The Post, and the post-production for Ready Player One and he is eyeing the Indiana Jones 5. Many believe that Spielberg will play it pretty cool and will remake West Side Story.

If these reports are true, then this is a very promising news about Indiana Jones 5. Fans have been hearing a lot of talk and Spielberg has now been attached to this project with screenwriter, David Koepp. The rumors had initially pointed to Chris Pratt taking over the role of Indiana Jones. Disney’s chairman, Alan Horn then nixed the rumors and said, there were plans to “embark on this adventure” that will be the “perfect combination” of Ford and Spielberg.

Shia LaBeouf who had played Indy’s sidekick and Mutt Williams in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will not be in the sequel. This is because of many reasons like the 2008 movie’s frosty reception, and LaBeouf’s tarnished reputation.

2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was a huge box office hit and had garnered $317.1 million domestic and $469.5 million foreign. It yielded $786.6 million, and it is the biggest-earning movie in this series and dwarfed the $389.9 million of Raiders of the Lost Ark and $474.1 million of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
