Winter Soldier Is Going To Have A New Name In Avengers: Infinity War

Apparently, Bucky is no longer going to be the Winter Soldier.

With the help of Shuri and the advanced technology of Wakanda, Bucky finally got freed from the mental shackles of the assassin programming done to him by his former captors. Therefore, he is no longer the Winter Soldier, and he now has a new codename, White Wolf.

The new Bucky’s first glimpse was revealed in a post-credit scene of Black Panther, where Bucky seemed to be healing in a tiny village in Wakanda. He is greeted by Shuri as he steps into the sun and although he didn’t have the cool new arm in that scene, he seemed to be at ease. Therefore, the codename had to be changed.

As can be seen in the Entertainment Weekly cover, he ultimately gets a new arm, and it appeared to be made of vibranium, which adds more invincibility to him. With the new technology to support him, and a rejuvenated mind and mentality, Bucky will be mightier than the past, and the Avengers will be better off using that extra power in their bid to stop Thanos.

As far as Sebastian Stan, the actor who plays Bucky is concerned, he need not worry about what’s the future of his character because Marvel seems to have plans for him.

I don’t worry about the character,” Stan said. “No matter what they decide, they’re going to do the right thing … I have ownership over the character, but it’s not up to me to decide what happens. But you know, those guys are going to take it to another level. That’s just what they are going to do. And it’s a culmination of so many things up until this point, which is why they can.”
