This Actor Can Be Perfect Blade For Marvel Cinematic Universe, Fan Concept Art Revealed

It’s been quite a long wait for Marvel fans to once again see the guy who unleashed the present trend of superhero movies make his comeback to the big screen. After Marvel Studios bought back the Blade’s rights, we have been seeking answers to two vital questions: Who is going to play Blade? How does he fit into the MCU scheme of things? While the latter question is more difficult to answer, a great deal of fan art has been created to answer the first one. Here is one such artwork:

The great BossLogic created this piece featuring John Boyega (Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Pacific Rim 2). This fantastic art makes the star look exactly like the Blade that we know and love. It is quite a solid case for why John Boyega will be a fabulous choice for the role, despite there being some mighty competition as seen in the form of recent Blade fan art featuring Jamie Foxx.

It is interesting to see BossLogic mention alongside the artwork that whoever plays Blade would be decided only with the approval of Wesley Snipes. Snipes has himself stated sometime back that he is ready to play Blade again and had trashed the thought of the character being recast, in a social media post.

Although we would be happy to see the iconic Blade on the big screen again, we believe it is time for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to try and create a new adaptation of the character. Snipes doesn’t look the same guy that he did 20 years back, and it is also quite likely that Blade might arrive as a Netflix show instead of a new movie. In case nothing else clicks, then it is unlikely to see the old Blade movie get merged into the MCU continuity. The blade has to be rebooted.

Who is your choice to play Blade in a new MCU movie or series? Let us know via comments, and you can check out other BossLogic works above!

Black Panther is presently shattering box office records. Avengers: Infinity War will land on April 27, and other upcoming MCU films are Ant-Man and the Wasp on July 6th, Captain Marvel on March 8th, 2019, Avengers 4 on May 3rd, 2019, Spider-Man: Homecoming’s sequel on July 5th, 2019, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in 2020.
