Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi Film Might Finally Be Made: Lucas Approving Location

Allegations have surfaced about George Lucas visiting Belfast recently to approve prospective locations for a spin-off.

Belfast Telegraph reported that the staff at Paint Hall Studios had been intimated about Star Wars going to be shot there after the last season of Game of Thrones wraps up filming at the same location.

“We’ve been told there will be work throughout 2019 because Star Wars is coming to Belfast,” an insider claimed.

“It was all very low key; only a few people knew that the old guy walking around the set was George Lucas.

It was only when we were told about Star Wars coming here next year that it dawned on us that was why he was here before Christmas.”

According to the newspaper’s report, the movie is likely to be directed by Stephen Daldry, who has earlier made Billy Elliot and The Reader.

Ewan McGregor played Obi-Wan in the prequel trilogy, and he stressed that nothing is finalized yet.

“It’s just that [a rumor]. There’s a lot of talk,” he stated at the Golden Globes.

I’d be happy to play him again. I don’t know any more about it more than you do.”

“I saw the new one [Star Wars: The Last Jedi] over Christmas. I thought it was really, really beautiful. I loved it.”

As for now, the next spin-off movie called Solo: A Star Wars Story is scheduled to release on May 25.
