Robert Downey Jr Hints At A Death of An Avenger In ‘Avengers: Infinity War

During the upcoming mega battle called Avengers: Infinity War and its presently untitled second half Avengers 4, it is quite likely that a beloved MCU character would be killed by either Thanos or his Black Order.

Robert Downey Jr plays Tony Stark aka Iron-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he is the guy who started it all with his 2008 movie Iron-Man. He was recently in a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, and he toyed with the probable death of some of his fellow characters.

We’re going to pull out the stops, and stop exploring conventions, and look to do stuff where we go, ‘Oh, but if we do that, that’s very, very definitive.’ Well, great, let’s get definitive for a change!” Downey said.

By the way, RDJ is not the only Marvel person to make such statements. In fact, the Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige had also referred to Avengers: Infinity War as the culmination of the ten years of MCU build up so far.

Talking about Infinity War, Downey talked about who would die and when would that happen.

“We’re like a family now. Ten years later, we’re hanging out and having lunch, and kind of wondering when the draft is going to come in. Which one of us bites it and when?” Downey asked.

Barring Quicksilver’s death in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Feige and his team have kept going with the other MCU characters right up to Avengers: Infinity War. Even the agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), who was murdered by Loki in The Avengers, was also revealed to have been revived and he is still heading his team on Agents of SHIELD on television.

There has been no clear word or confirmation about any of the cast member dying in Avengers: Infinity War. However,  there is a number of actors and actresses from MCU whose multi-movie contracts are nearly over, and that list includes Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans too.

Avengers: Infinity War will be out on April 27, 2018, whereas Avengers 4 is listed for release on May 3, next year. As you wait for Avengers: Infinity War to release, you have the option of watching Black Panther in theaters now.
