After he was released from prison in the last season of Marvel’s The Defenders, Luke Cage is again present in the second season teaser for his Netflix show.
It is a 26-second promotional teaser which came out a short while back and mentions the release date as June 22. It has also highlighted a quick recap of Luke’s powers: can’t be burned, blasted, or broken. And whoever wants to take a shot at him is free to “step up. I’m right here!”
After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.
The first season of Luke Cage had tackled this issue in an initial episode when Harlem’s inhabitants had asked him to use force and get their stolen goods back. However, now he has become highly reputed courtesy his fight with Diamondback and the imprisonment that followed, he would be tackling that problem on a much larger scale than the past. Now with the new mysterious enemy and Shades lurking in the dark, Luke aka the Unbreakable Man has a clear and difficult mission ahead in the upcoming season.
Luke Cage stars Mike Colter, Simone Missick, Alfre Woodard, Theo Rossi, Rosario Dawson, Mustafa Shakir and Gabrielle Dennis.
