Be careful guys! Weapon H is soon going to be let loose in the Marvel Universe. The debut appearance of the Hulk/Wolverine hybrid’s latest series will be out in no more than a week.
The recent Marvel Comics mini-event “Weapons of Mutant Destruction” showed how an experiment was conducted on a soldier called Clay that led to his DNA getting spliced with samples from Amadeus Cho (Totally Awesome Hulk) and Wolverine, leading to the creation of a modern super-soldier. By the time the story ends, this new hero has taken on a number of Marvel heroes and once again managed to re-emerge from the brainwashing the Weapon X program did to him. He is free now, and ready to carve out his own name in his currently running series.
The series writers Greg Pak and artist Cory Smith are hopeful that their new series featuring this Hulk-Wolverine hybrid will provide fans opportunity to see various incredible elements related to the main characters, from an entirely new perspective. “The big danger of both Wolverine and the Hulk is, traditionally, that they can lose control, go berserk. But Clay was chosen for this procedure because he has intense military discipline,” Pak told us in a recent interview. “The idea is that he’s the perfect weapon because he can control this tremendous power. But now Clay’s free from Weapon X — so the question is what a person with this tremendous discipline is going to do with this terrifying power?”
Greg Pak and Cory Smith’s creation Weapon H#1 lands in comic book stores on Wednesday, March 21.
