A Very Famous Actor Had Paid For Chadwick Boseman’s Acting Studies

Did you know that Denzel Washington had helped the Black Panther star, Chadwick Boseman become the actor that he is today? Before Boseman had been announced as MCU’s T’Challa, the actor was a star due to his role in Get On Up. We can now say that success of Black Panther has made Boseman a household name.

In the Academy Awards, superhero films were snubbed but there was praise for Marvel’s latest outing, and many are now wondering is Black Panther has a chance for the 2019 Oscars. This movie had gained a lot of praise from the critics and the audiences. It might become Marvel’s very first solo movie to make $1 billion worldwide.

Boseman had been a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and he spoke about he story he kept to himself. This story involves The Cosby Show star, Phylicia Rashad getting funds from her friends to help get kids to go overseas and study at Oxford and Boseman’s trip to the school had been paid by a famous man.

“I didn’t have money to pay for this, and so she [Rashad] got a few of her friends together and, you know, they paid for us to go. I didn’t know at first – when I came back – and I’ve basically been holding this secret my whole career, [but] when I came back I got a beneficiary letter. And it said, ‘Denzel Washington paid for you.’ You know, and I was like, ‘What?’”

Boseman had kept this story to himself for many years and wanted to tell Washington how much this meant to him. It is more surreal when one considers Washington had been considered for Black Panther. Boseman is one of the aspects of Black Panther that has won praise. He will suit up next for Avengers: Infinity War and we can hope that Black Panther 2 will be a part of Phase 4 of the MCU.
