A Marvel Avenger May Show Up In The Upcoming Men In Black Spinoff

From 1997 to 2012 Men in Black was one of the funniest Spy/alien movie franchises. The Men in the Black trilogy starred Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as the main stars of the first two movies after which Josh Brolin was introduced in the third movie.

Fans and critics both loved and were impressed by all three movies which at the same time, raked in big bucks at the box office. Men in Black made $589 Million worldwide with just a $90 Million budget. Men in Black 2 was not as successful but still managed to make a cool $441 Million with a budget of $140 Million, while Men in Black 3 grossed $624 Million at a production budget of $225 Million.

So successful was this franchise that it comes as no surprise that Sony has announced plans to relaunch  the Men in Black movies. Sony revealed the rebooted film will hit cinemas on June 14, 2019. The studio has even taken one step forward and released supposed plot details for the movie and are currently looking for the best directors to helm the project.

Recently, it was announced that the studio is interested in F. Gary Gray to direct the first installment of the upcoming film. Gray has had a great experience with directing Straight Outta Compton in 2015 and with The Fast and The Furious 8. The movie grossed over a Billion Dollars at the worldwide box office.

If Gary Grey does end up directing, he will be teaming up with script writers, Art Marcum & Matt Holloway who wrote Iron Man. The studio recently had a massive box office hit with the reboot movie, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. With such a profitable return and an enthusiastic response from the audience, the studio is confident the MIB reboot series will be another feather in their cap.

It is being rumored that Chris Hemsworth might play a role in the film. MCU’s God of Thunder is in talks to play one of the Lead roles in the Men in Black reboot spinoff. Although he is best known for playing  Thor, Hemsworth has proved his acting skills with movies like Rush and 12 strong, and we already know that he has a great sense of humor as seen in the rebooted Ghostbusters movie and the comedy flick Vacation.

A heartthrob with perfect comedic timing is just what we need to see in the upcoming Men in Black movie, and Hemsworth could do justice with any role given to him. One of the best actor duos used to be Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, and if Chris Hemsworth is cast, the Studio will be on the lookout to find his perfect match.

Since this will be a reboot, the writers are looking for something fresh with a twist to kickstart the series. It would be interesting to see a white guy play the funny one and a black guy the serious one for a change. Since Hemsworth has a great sense of humor, he would fit the role perfectly.
