Born as Allison Rebecca Stokke on March 22, 1989 in Newport Beach, California, she is an American track and field athlete and fitness model. Stokke grew up in a sporting family and her older brother David was a national level youth gymnast. After she tried gymnastics, she chose pole vaulting during her time at the Newport High School and soon went on to become one of the best young vaulters in USA. She won the age 15/16 US title in the year 2004 with a championship record of 3.81 m (12 ft 6 inches).

Stokke shattered numerous American records for high school pole vaulting. She was seventeen when her images went viral online and she became an internet sensation. Her unintended sex symbol status became a nationally and internationally covered topic and the basis of various debates on sexualisation of sportswomen and of young women in general on the internet.

Stokke continued pursuing the sport and attended the University of California, Berkeley where she competed for the California Golden Bears collegiate track team. She participated at two NCAA Division I Championships, and achieved All-American honours at the 2011 NCAA Indoor Championships. She also earned regional level all-academic honours courtesy of her combined athletic and academic performances. She tried to break into the American Olympic team at the 2012 United States Olympic Trials, but, failed to record a height. She continued pole vaulting at the national level meetings until 2017.

She started sportswear modelling and appeared in campaigns for Nike, Inc. and Athleta in 2015, and Uniglo in 2016. Stokke also started working with GoPro, delivering a number of videos of her vaulting heights with the camera attached to her pole to explain the inner working of the sport and advertising the action camera equipment. By 2016, Stokke’s videos had received over six million YouTube views.

While she didn’t rank highly on the national level, Stokke kept competing in national level meetings. Her best in 2016 was an eight place at the Chula Vista OTC High Performance Meet where she recorded a height of 4.15 m and in the following year, she managed to reach 4.27 m and a third place at the 2017 Austin Longhorn Invitational.

Stokke started seeing American professional golfer Rickie Fowler in 2017, and the couple was engaged in June 2018.
