In the last years of her life, Elizabeth Montgomery became a volunteer for the Los Angeles Unit of Learning Ally which is a non-profit organization that records educational books on specially formatted CDs. She also produced several radios and television public-service announcements in 1994 for the organization’s Los Angeles unit.
The following year, she recorded the 1952 edition of the best-selling book of poetry, When We Were Very Young. She was born on 15th April in 1933 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, the U.S. Her parents were Elizabeth Daniel Bryan Allen and Robert Montgomery.
She completed her graduation from Spence School and she also studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She made her acting debut with her father’s series, Robert Montgomery, and became a member of his summer stock company of performers. In 1953, she made her Broadway debut in the production of Late Love for which she won an award.
Her debut film was The Court-Martial of Billy Mitchell that was released in 1955. She returned to Broadway in 1956 appearing in The Loud Red Patrick. She also appeared in several television dramas and series like Studio One, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Burke’s Law, Johnny Staccato, The Twilight Zone, The Eleventh Hour, etc.

In 1963, she played the role of a socialite in Johnny Cool. In 1964, she was cast to play the role of Samantha Stephens in the situation comedy, Bewitched for which she was nominated for multiple awards. She worked in it till 1972. She made a cameo appearance in the beach party film, How to Stuff a Wild Bikini in 1965.
In 1974, she played the role of a rape victim in A Case of Rape. She appeared several times on the game show, Password. In 1977, she played the role of a police detective in A Killing Affair. Her last appearance on the screen was in the TV film, Deadline for Murder: From the Files of Edna Buchanan in 1995.
She went through four failed marriages and she had three children with her second husband, Gig Young. In 1995, she was diagnosed with cancer and there was no hope of her recovery. On 18th May 1995, she died at the age of 62. She has won the OFTA TV Hall of Fame, TV Land Award, etc.
