She took born on 7th October in 1990 in Paris, France. She is of French and Congolese descent. Her family moved to Freiburg, Germany when she was 3. She got an interest in sports since childhood and she also took part in several school competitions.
She won the 2008 and 2009 German Youth titles and she also got the German Indoor Senior title in 2011. She made her debut in European Junior Championships in 2009 and she finished 6th with 1.80 meters jump.
She became one of the youngest members of the German contingent who was sent to the European Indoor Championships in 2011. She was sent instead of Ariane Friedrich who couldn’t perform for injury and Marie has the responsibility to carry the cudgels for her country in the high jump. She performed the qualifying match with a score of 1.89 meters marks.
She also won the German Indoor Senior title in 2011. Later, she participated in the European U23 Championships and finished in the 8th place. In 2013, she took part in World Championships and placed 11th in the qualifying match. She also participated in the World Indoor Championships in Sopot, Poland, and placed 8th. Later in 2015, she took part in the World Championship in Beijing, and in 2016, she participated in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. She finished in 4th place at the World Championship in 2017.
