Born as Jenny Ebbing Skavlan on June 3, 1986, she is a Norwegian model, actress, television presenter, and author. Skavlan was raised in Bygdoy peninsula in the Frogner neighborhood of Oslo. Her father, Jorgen Skavlan is a doctor and her mother is a costume designer/textile artist. Skavlan studied at the Fagerborg Upper Secondary School where she had played the lead role in the traditional Fagerborg revue show for two successive years. She met the musician Thomas Gullestad in the year 2008 and they got married in 2014.

Skavlan debuted as a movie actress at the age of eight as Alveola in Body Troopers, after which she played numerous roles in commercials including a commercial for Gilde Norsk Kjott in 2002.
