Born as Gina Jane Choi on September 13, 1987 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, she graduated from Fraser Heights Secondary School in Surrey, British Columbia. G. NA was initially going to debut as the leader of girl group Five Girls under Good Entertainment. However, the group was disbanded shortly before they were supposed to debut in 2007 owing to the financial woes of Good Entertainment, and the members all moved to different Korean entertainment agencies. Choi moved to Cube Entertainment.
G. NA came out with a duet featuring Rain, “Aeini Saenggimyeon Hago Sipeun II” on July 5, 2010. Her debut EP, Draw G’s First Breath also came out in the same year. In February 2011, her song “Black & White” became a big success and she sang on Hyuna’s album Bubble Pop! Song “A Bitter Day.”
She released her third EP Bloom on May 22, 2012 with the lead single “2HOT”. G.NA tied up with Aaron Yan for his song “Half” for the drama show Fall In Love With Me, and featured in a variety show Real Man.
She debuted in a sub-unit Chamsonyeo in 2015. It was a group created in the TV program Hitmaker produced by Defconn and Jeong Hyeong-don.
