Born on February 20, 1990, in Victorville, California, Amanda Yvette Bingson is an American track and field athlete specializing in the hammer throw. She is a former American record holder in the event and has measured a distance of 75.73 m (248 feet 5 ¼ inches0 that she had set during the 2013 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Bingson went to school at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she holds a school record and majored in interdisciplinary studies. She had taken part in the hammer throw discipline in 2009 as a college freshman and has continued improving her performance since then. A month before her trials, she finished in the fourth place at the NCAA Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships and before that she was a shot put and discus thrower at the Silverado High School in Paradise, where her team was the winner of the state championship twice and she had finished in the second place in the 2008 shot put.

She managed to qualify for the Olympic team when she finished second in the hammer throw at the 2012 US Olympic Trials and threw 71.78 m (235 feet 5 ¾ inches and she had reached the A standard) in the 4^th round. During the Olympics, she failed to make it past the qualifying round, and finished 28^th overall.
