By now we all know that Wolverine will be recast sooner or later and now, The Walking Dead’s Tom Payne seems to be expressing his interest in wearing the adamantium claws.
“If they did recast the Wolverine part, I’d be well up for it,” Payne had said.
“Wolverine is actually like 5’1″, or 5’2″ or something. And Hugh, he was brilliant, but he was much, much, much bigger.”
Payne had also noted that he knows that he must have bulk up for this role. The actor is willing to take up this challenge, and we know that he grew hair and a beard to play The Walking Dead’s Paul “Jesus” Rovia character.
Whether or not Wolverine will be recast, we do not know for sure. This character may be transferred to Marvel Studios’ ownership, and this means that the character will be set in the MCU with the Avengers.
Apart from The Walking Dead, Payne is known for roles Mindgamers; Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, The Physician, and Waterloo Road. He may have competition for the Wolverine role as Scott Eastwood is now campaigning for the X-men member.
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on AMC.
