WB And DC Comics May Soon Be Up For Sale

Recently, it was announced that Disney is acquiring 20th Century Fox for $52.4 Billion, which meant the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool movies will finally come under the Marvel Studios banner. Sony also mentioned that if they did not make profits in the next 1-2 years, they too would be selling. Apparently now even Warner Bros. and DC Comics could be following in the same direction.

Warner Bros. is currently establishing its foothold with the Justice League team main members while other DC comic book characters like Batgirl and Nightwing are in the backburner for the time being.

If the AT&T and Times Warner, Warner Bros. merger comes through, then it looks like WB and the DCEU will likely be broken up and sold to other companies individually.

Time Warner was almost purchased by 21st Century Fox in 2014 which was luckily unsuccessful. It would have been odd to see an X-Men film cross over with DC.  That would mean Disney would have the rights to DC along with Marvel’s X-Men, Deadpool and Fantastic Four. This would give Disney ownership of both Marvel and DC combined. With that in mind, it is most likely would be a Marvel-DC crossover film.

There was also a time where Apple also considered buying Time Warner the same time when AT&T made their bid. With Time Warner on the market again, It is likely, they might be interested in buying once more and would probably include DC Comics.

There are many Disney, Marvel and DC fans who would love to see this merger happen as it would bring together all three of their favorite universes. Along with this with the addition of Star Wars and the Harry Potter franchise as well, it could go on to become a major Billion Dollar franchise all under one roof!

Should this happen, Walt Disney will have the ultimate monopoly over everyone in Hollywood. This might not give any of the other studios any more rivalry which in itself, could be a bad thing.

So far Disney has acquired Star Wars and Marvel Studios, and now they are planning to buy Fox by next year. We might even see WB coming into Disney one day as well and look forward to some good films for a change.
