Marvel and DC fans have always had their favourites who they would like to pit against the other. The two most powerful female superheroes in DC & Marvel are Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel. Both of them are equals in their own right and their origin stories couldn’t be more different.
Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel was an air force pilot who gets her DNA mixed with an alien’s DNA after meeting with a major accident. This leads to giving her super-strength. She is famous for being a female superhero who fights aggressively for equal pay for women. On a superpower level, she is equivalent to Vision or Scarlett Witch and is known as Wonder Woman of Marvel universe.
Kevin Feige (head of Marvel Studios) has said that Captain Marvel will be the “most powerful” superhero in the Marvel universe. Brie Larson will play the titular character and there is a possibility that she will replace Captain America and assume a leadership role in the Phase 4 of MCU.
Wonder Woman is Princess Diana of Themyscira. She is an Amazonian goddess who was bestowed with super-powers by the Greek gods in particular Aphrodite who created the Amazons and is a founding member of “The Justice League”.. Since then she has channelled her abilities and strengths to become a powerful super hero in DC universe.
Wonder Woman is stronger than Superman, and has once lifted Thor’s hammer and is gifted with the power of wisdom. Captain Marvel can fly at enormous speeds, possess photon blasts that destroyed Iron Man’s armour and can heal quickly from injuries.
Captain Marvel’s only weaknesses are she can be impulsive, reckless and lose control. Wonder Woman weakness is piercing weapons and turning her lasso against her. Therefore, Captain Marvel does have a slight win over Wonder Woman.
