It has been confirmed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire), that he is going to direct the 25th 007 movie, and he is aiming to start filming by the end of this year.
Boyle is presently working along with writer John Hodge, who has earlier teamed up with the director on Shallow Grave, Trainspotting, The Beach and some other movies, to create the script.
“We’ve got an idea, John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment,” Boyle told Metro. “And it all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away.”
Boyle’ acknowledgment brings to an end the fierce speculation about the choice of director for the 25th Chapter of the James Bond saga. In February, Christopher Nolan had rejected the rumors about directing the movie. It is still not clear as to who would play the iconic spy in the film, as Daniel Craig had said towards the end of 2015 that he would prefer slashing his wrists over playing Bond again. However, fast forward August last year, and he had issued a confirmation about playing Bond again.
Earlier reports had suggested that the old timers of Bond franchise, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (Skyfall, Spectre) were working on the script for James Bond 25, but, Boyle’s latest remarks indicate he and Hodge will start afresh.
The 25th James Bond movie has a scheduled release date of November 8, 2019.
