Fan-made videos have become very common and this is a way in which the fans express their love for a movie, character or TV show. Now, a recent video from a fan has combined the footage from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi in order to offer us a funny alternate ending for Episode VII.
Fans would know that Luke Skywalker had been absent from all the Force Awakens marketing materials and promos and this was a very strategic play. This movie was about finding our famous Jedi, and actor, Mark Hamill’s role was just a brief cameo in the movie’s last scene. Rey had found Luke on Ahch-To and gave him his lightsaber, and she then went on to ask him to answer the call for help.
The fans had waited for two years in order to see the outcome of this encounter and well, it was not what the fans had been expecting. Luke just tossed the weapon away and this even endangered a few porgs. The Force Awakens and the Last Jedi have released on home media, and one fan has combined these two scenes to create a hilarious ending.
The video was posted by Jacob Martin, and this mashup has blended both the sequences with John Williams’ “The Jedi Steps” track which sets the tone.

In the Last Jedi, Luke had changed drastically from the hopeful and idealistic Jedi and became filled with shame and regret over his failures. It was very shocking for all the fans to see Luke rejecting his lightsaber. If Luke had knowingly removed himself from this fight, he would not spring back into action as fast as he did. A part of what had made Luke’s Last Jedi story arc as rewarding as it had been was the transition which the character made. We saw real conflict within him, and finally, it was good to see him return and help the Resistance.
If Episode 7 had ended like this, it would have really derailed the image and would have even altered the mood of the audiences.
