Adult Swim had released a program schedule with three new pilots and a Walking Dead-themed Robot Chicken special. The network has two projects under work.
Among the pilot, orders is a new live-action comedy from the team that gave us Rick and Morty. Aptly titled Art Prison. It follows a bunch of talented convicts battling for supremacy inside a “prison for performing arts. Tom Kauffman and Paul Isakson co-created the project, and Dan Harmon is the executive producer.
The two other pilots, are both animated series. The first one, LazorWulf follows a wolf who carries a laser on his back and is co-created by Henry Bonsu and Daniel Weidenfeld. Chuck Deuce, is about a NorCal surfer activist who loses his memory when he’s slammed by a giant wave and is created by Lars Kenseth.
“Adult Swim is a one-of-a-kind destination that simply knows its audience,” said Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, and Boomerang president and general manager Christina Miller. “Mike Lazzo and his team have always found new and interesting ways to produce and distribute content that can’t be found anywhere else.”
A special addition to Adult Swim’s schedule is The Robot Chicken special that is inspired by The Walking Dead. The collaboration is between Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreichand The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and Scott M. Gimple. The series will follow in the tradition of the franchise’s spoofs of Star Wars and DC comics.
“Adult Swim has developed a relationship with millennials like no other media brand,” added Turner ad sales president Donna Speciale. “That connection is a key access point for advertisers who want to utilize an authentic voice across custom, branded content, and partnerships rich with direct-to-fan experiences.”
