Green Lantern DC Movie Is Moving Ahead, An Amazing Director Is Being Eyed

It seems as if DCEU has got its sights set on the director to helm their upcoming Green Lantern Corps film!

A new report from That Hashtag Show claims that Warner Bros. is looking at Christopher McQuarrie to direct Green Lantern Corps film.

During the last few years, McQuarrie has been behind the camera in various successful action movies. He has directed Jack Reacher, Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation, and Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Not only that McQuarrie also is credited with having written the screenplay for the much-loved sci-fi movie, Edge of Tomorrow.

In case McQuarrie took up the WB project, he would be willing to get going after the release of Fallout. As of now, the studio is looking to release the film in 2020. Therefore, it won’t be long before the production gets going, especially taking into account the great deal of special effects which this film would require in post-production stage.

As reported by the report, the tagline for the Green Lantern Corps is as shared below:

Former test pilot Hal Jordan, now a veteran of the intergalactic group of protectors for peace and justice known as the Green Lantern Corps, mentors young recruit John Stewart.

This report from That Hashtag Show also had the casting details of Hal Jordan and John Stewart, mentioning their age difference and the relationship between them.

Hal Jordan: Lead Male (39-50) Now a veteran of the Green Lantern Corps., Caucasian. Former military test-pilot.

John Stewart: Lead Male (21-30) Young. African-American. Marine sniper before he joined the Lantern Corps.

Assuming McQuarrie does direct the movie, chances are that Tom Cruise might be in the running for playing Hal Jordan. Although there is nothing to indicate his association with the movie, McQuarrie has worked with the star in his last four films, and Cruise suits the age range too. As of now, we are only speculating because casting decisions are yet to be made.
