It seems like The Expendables 4 may start filming by summer. This might actually be an ‘if’ considering all the hurdles that the film overcame to be happening. This news comes from Randy Couture who has revealed that Expendables 4 will start filming by August.
Couture has been part of this franchise from its inception, and it seems like he is now getting together with Sylvester Stallone for a 4th installment. Stallone had a few disagreements with Avi Lerner about Expendables 4, and this had led to the project’s delay. This is what he had to say:
“I’m excited about Expendables 4. Right now, we’re scheduled to start filming in August, and hopefully, we’re able to stay on schedule. It sounds like we’re coming back to Bulgaria, which is exciting. I’ve spent a lot of time in Sofia, and Varna and I’m excited to come back. I love the people (there), I love the food, and I’m excited to come back.”
This does not reveal a lot about the plot however, it does confirm teases that Stallone had posted on Instagram about Expendables 4 being back on schedule. Stallone is now filming Creed 2, and he was supposed to helm this film, but then he had decided not to. This frees him up after he is finished filming Expendables 4. There has been no director announced for this project, and since he had directed the first film, it is reasonable to assume think that he may want to direct the last movie also.
Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steve Austin, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson, Chuck Norris, Harrison Ford, Kelsey Grammer and Wesley Snipes have starred in Expendables. It is not clear who will be returning this time, but we can bet that Expendables 4 is sure to be R-rated.
Expendables 3 had experimented with a PG-13 movie, and it did not do too well. And it is doubtful if they will take this road again.
