Captain America Has Fought With Thanos In Comic Books And It Was Epic, Here’s How It Happened

A few days ago, Marvel had released their final trailer for the upcoming movie, Avengers: Infinity War. There was one particular scene that has remained in the minds of the fans- Captain America fighting Thanos.

Would the movie be drawing inspiration from the events in the comics?

This moment comes from the comic series, Infinity Gauntlet which was published in 1991. Thanos had assembled the six Infinity Stones and placed them in the Gauntlet. He wiped out almost half of the life in the universe in an attempt to impress the Goddess of Death,

All the remaining heroes were then hen then gathered by Adam Warlock and Silver Surfer in order to oppose the Mad Titan. But Thanos wiped out all the heroes, and Captain America was the last one left:

Captain America had delivered a pretty a powerful speech:

“As long as one man stands against you, Thanos, you’ll never be able to claim victory…I’ve lived my life by those sentiments…They’re well worth dying for.”

But this is a moment which serves as a very thematic moment as Captain America represents a person’s will to live on and even face and fight death.

All the heroes had thrown themselves into the charge against Thanos, but, Warlock had held the Silver Surfer in reserve who remains until the last moment to snatch the Gauntlet from Thanos.

Avengers: Infinity War will release on April 27th, and Black Panther is now showing in theaters. Other MCU movies include Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
