Born as Victoria Leigh Blum on October 15, 1955 in the Bronx, New York City, she is an American actress and producer, better known as Tanya Roberts. She is the second child of her father who had Irish origins and a Jewish mother. Roberts’ father worked as a fountain pen salesman in Manhattan, and Roberts was raised with her sister in the central Bronx.

She moved from New York with her mother to Toronto and lived there for many years and started putting up a pictorial portfolio and creating career plans. By the age of 15, she left high school and lived for some time as a hitchhiker all over the United States. She ultimately returned to New York City and became a fashion and cover model. After she met psychology student Barry Roberts (while she waited in a queue for a movie), she proposed to him in a subway station and they got married soon thereafter. Barry opted for a career as a screenwriter, she started studying at the Actors Studio with Lee Strasberg and Ula Hagen under her stage name Tanya Roberts. She started her modelling career in TV ads for Excedrin, Ultra Brite, Clairol and Cool Ray sunglasses. She also played serious off-Broadway roles in productions like Picnic and Antigone. She also worked as an Arthur Murray dance instructor. Her movie debut was in the horror film Forced Entry (1975) which was followed by a comedy film titled The Yum-Yum Girls (1976). In the year 1977, her husband was establishing his career as a screenwriter, and the couple relocated to Hollywood. In the following year, Roberts participated in the drama ‘Fingers.’ In 1979 she appeared in the cult film Tourist Trap and also in Racquet and California Dreaming. Roberts was cast in various TV pilots that were not picked up.

She first became famous as Julie Rogers in the final season of Charlie’s Angels in 1980. She is also renowned for playing Kiri in The Beastmaster (1982), Stacy Sutton in the James Bond film A View To Kill (1985). She also played a role in the erotic thriller film Inner Sanctum (1991) alongside Margaux’ Hemingway. In the year 1992, she played Kay Egan in Sins of Desire. She also appeared on the cable series Hot Line in 1994 and in the video game The Pandora Detective in 1996.

In the year 1998, Roberts played Midge Pinciotti in the TV sitcom ‘That 70’s Show. Roberts disclosed on E! True Hollywood Story that she had exited the series in 2001 because her husband had become terminally ill. She also wrote the foreword to the book The Q Guide to Charlie’s Angels (2008).

Tanya Roberts remained married to Barry Roberts from 1974 until his death in 2006. The couple had no children. Roberts is a resident of Hollywood Hills, California.
