Born as Katherine Mari Stevens on December 8, 1992, she is an American actress and singer renowned for finishing in eight place on season nine of American Idol and also for starring as Karma Ashcroft in MTV series Faking It as well as for the portrayal of Jane Sloan in Freeform’s The Bold Type.

Stevens was raised in Middlebury, Connecticut by Mark and Clara Stevens. She did her graduation from Poperaug High School in Southbury in June 2010. She was named as the 2009 Westbury Outstanding Teen at the Greater Watertown Scholarship Pageant.

Stevens played a crucial role in the creation of the Evan Gagnon Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides college scholarships to the seniors of Pomperaug High School (Evan Gagnon, who died in January 2009 at the age of two, was the son of Stevens’ Spanish teacher. She was a member of Pomperaug High School’s varsity swim team for four years. She first performed in front of an audience when she was five, and sang the national anthem at a party for a politician in her hometown.
