Born on 19 September 1974 as Karin Victoria Silvstedt, she is a Swedish top model, actress, singer, and TV personality. While she was born in Skelleffehamn, Sweden, Silvstedt was raised in a family of five in Bollnas. She loved horseback riding and wanted to become a veterinarian.

Her father was the captain of a local ski team, and she started alpine skiing at the age of five. In the year 1989, Silvstedt was placed fourth at the Swedish national alpine skiing youth championship in the glant slalom event which was won by Pernilla Wiberg.
