Robin Wright was born as Robin Gayle Wright and her parents are Gayle Gaston and Fred Wright. Her mother worked as a national director in Mary Kay cosmetics and her father was a pharmaceutical executive. She spent her childhood in California and got an education from La Jolla High School and Taft High School. She was so cheerful and energetic youth and loved to travel a lot. Her confidence in herself made her able to shoot as a model only when she was 14 years old. Then she wanted to be highly praised and recognized by the Hollywood industry. So to become an actress she started to audition and without any prior knowledge and experience of acting, she was selected to play a role in the TV series Santa Barbara. After that, the way to act in Hollywood was opened for her smoothly.
She is married to Dane Witherspoon in 1986. After two years of being together, the couple did break up. Then she was engaged with actor Sean Penn in 1989. She became the mother of two children by this relationship. However, they did marriage in 1996 and were so happy in their family life. But suddenly after 14 years of married life, the couple got divorced in 2010.
The brilliant actress has won Golden Glove Award for Best Actress for the TV show House of Cards in 2014. For the same show, she has won Satellite Award for the Best Actress.
