Born on 31 January, 1992, Amy Jackson is a British-model-turned-actress working in the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi movies.
Amy was born in the Isle of Man, but, her family moved to Liverpool, England when she was two years of age. After she finished her schooling, Amy studied at St. Edward’s College, Liverpool. Alongside her studies, Amy also started modelling and won the Miss Teen Liverpool as well as the Miss Teen Great Britain beauty pageants, before participating in and winning the 2009 Miss Teen World pageant. Her victory brought to her a lot of fame and she started receiving modelling and acting offers. In 2010, Tamil film director A. L. Vijay and his team saw her profile on the Miss Teen World website. They went on to cast her in a lead role in a drama film Madrasapattinam (2010). In the year 2012, she made her Bollywood debut in Ekk Deewana Tha. Later, Amy debuted in the Telugu films in Yevadu (2014). The British actress went on to feature in a big budget romantic thriller named I (2015), made by Shankar. The film turned out to be Amy’s biggest project until then and despite mixed reviews, it earned 225 crore rupees globally. She was cast in the 2015 Bollywood action comedy Singh Is Bling opposite Akshay Kumar and a Tamil family drama Thanga Magan in the same year. She had a busy 2016 and featured in Tamil action films Gethu and Their. She also appeared in a tri-lingual horror film Abhinetri and a Bollywood sports comedy Freaky Ali.
In 2012, Amy was in a live-in relationship with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na actor Prateik Babbar. They had stayed together in Bandra, Mumbai, but, separated later that year. She then dated a professional boxer Joe Selkirk, but, they split soon. In 2014, she dated British actor Ryan Thomas, but, they broke up in November of that year.
