Born as Nancy Valen on December 16, 1965, she is an American actress and TV producer. She is renowned for playing the role of Captain Samantha Thomas on Baywatch.

Nancy Valen was born in Brooklyn, New York, but, she grew up in Hallandale, Florida. By the time she was 12, she had started spending summers doing modelling gigs in New York City and studied acting at Uta Hagen’s HB Studios. After she graduated from a performing arts high school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Valen went on to win a theatrical scholarship from the University of Florida. She eventually declined the scholarship to continue her professional career in Miami. In the meanwhile, she attended Broward Community College, where she studied Theatre and paid for her fees by doing modelling and acting in a couple of Miami Vice episodes.

After she spent a year in college, Valen moved to New York City to pursue a theatrical career. Within a month of arriving in New York, she got a series regular role on a daytime drama Ryan’s Hope. Valen was on the show for two years before she moved to Los Angeles to pursue other passions.

Valen debuted in the films with Porky’s Revenge (1985). She followed it by a role in The Heavenly Kid with Richard Mulligan and Jane Kaczmarek. In the year 1989, Valen co-starred with Patrick Dempsey in Loverboy. She also played a minor role opposite Kirk Cameron in Listen To Me. Her other movie credits include Seven Sundays alongside Molly Ringwald, directed by an Oscar winning director, Jean-Charles Tachhella.

Vallen has been seen as a guest on Leno, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Day L.A. and on the covers and pages of magazines and newspapers such as American Women, FHM, Cosmopolitan, Entertainment Weekly, and The Los Angeles Times Calendar.
