Mayra Rojas was born in Oaxaca, Mexico and is a TV presenter and actress. She is the sister of actress Lorena Rojas who died in Miami due to liver cancer. She began her career after participating in the beauty contest “Miss Mexico” in 1983 where she represented her native Oaxaca and finished at the 2nd place nationwide. She also went on to represent Mexico in the “Miss World” contest of that same year. Her debut was in the telenovela Reach a Star, followed by hits such as “Reach a Star II” and Dance with Me. She also played her first villain in the telenovela Valentina. She was invited by the actor Héctor Bonilla to join the ranks of the nascent Aztec TV company. Between 1995 and 1996 he acted in the soap opera “With all the soul” in which she played the role of a villain again. She has also participated in several soap operas, both in antagonistic, leading and stellar roles in Indomitable Beauties, Love Me, Prófugas of Destiny among many others. Mayra Rojas has also ventured into dubbing and is the Spanish voice of the character of Yzma from the movie “The Emperor’s New Groove” and “Maleficent” from “The Sleeping Beauty”. She has also dubbed for films like Mulan, Bolt, Mars Needs Moms among others.
