Born as Fershgenet Melaku in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, she is an Ethiopian-American rapper, model and actress renowned as LoLa Monroe or as Angel Melaku. She was raised in Washington D.C. and started writing poems and songs when she was 12-years-old.
