Born on April 12, 1988 as Jessica Rose James Decker in Vicenza, Italy, she is an American country pop singer, songwriter and reality television personality. She comes from a military family, as her father worked in the U.S. Air Force. Due to that, she lived in a number of places: Iowa, Kentucky, Texas and Louisiana. She has two younger siblings, Sydney Rae Bass (born 1991) and John James (1994). She started singing when she was two-years-old and she won a talent content in Baker, Louisiana when she was nine and sang “I Want to Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart.” By that time, she had already been writing songs using a plastic guitar and had performed at SeaWorld and in Warner Robins in 2000. She was fifteen when she used to make weekly trips to Nashville to sharpen her song-writing skills.

She was fifteen when she auditioned for and was rejected by a majority of the country labels in Nashville, Tennessee. James started working on honing her skills with Carla Wallace of Big Yellow Dog Music. One of her songs caught the attention of Mercury Records and it offered her a recording contract. Her debut album, Jessie James came out in 2009. After a few years, she starred in 2013 with her husband Eric Decker, a wide receiver in the NFL, in the E! reality show Eric & Jessie: Game On which was discontinued in April 2014, but, was back on air in September 2017. On April 18, 2014, James released an EP via iTunes with 19 recordings titled Comin’ Home. On her new label Epic, she released a five-track EP Gold on February 17, 2017, and released a surprise live EP on June 9, 2017 titled Blackbird Sessions. On October 13, 2017, she came out with her first full-length Christmas album and first for Epic Records, Southern Girl City Lights. Her first full-length Christmas album titled On This Holiday was released on October 26, 2018. Decker is expecting to come out with her next full-length studio album in mid-March 2019.

James was in a relationship with the former NFL running back Reggie Bush in 2010. On June 22, 2013, Jessie got married to Eric Decker, an NFL wide receiver who back then played for the Denver Broncos.

In September 2013, it was declared that they were expecting their first child together and their daughter was born in March 2014 in Colorado. James gave birth to their second child in September 2015. James gave birth to their second son in March 2018.
