Born as Candice Kristina Patton on June 24, 1988, she is an American actress renowned for playing Iris West in The CW TV show The Flash and as the recurring character in the BET TV series The Game. Although, Patton was born in Jackson, Mississippi, but, she was raised in Plano, Texas. She graduated from Plano East Senior High School in 2003 and later attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, from where she graduated in 2007 with a BFA in Theatre.

After her first year in university in May 2004, Patton took a role in CBS’ Soap Star Screen Test, a national level audition contest for university students to win a role on the soap opera The Young and The Restless. Patton was the winner of the contest alongside Iman Nazemzadeh. I 2008, she played a starring role in The WB’s web series Sorority Forever and also a role in the independent movie Commander and Chief.

Patton played roles in various TV series’ such as the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. She is currently playing the role of Iris West in The Flash for The CW since 2014. In the season three episode “Duel” she played Millie Foss, a daughter of gangsters, in a dreamworld situation.
