Born as Allyson Michelle Felix OLY on November 18, 1985, she is an American track and field sprinter specializing in 100 M, 200 M and 400 M disciplines. She was born and raised in California. Felix is a devout Christian and her father Paul is an ordained minister and professor of New Testament at The Master’s Seminary in Santa Clarita Valley, California. Her mother Marlean is an elementary school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary. Her older brother Wes Felix is also a sprinter. Wes now works as her sister’s agent. Felix considers her running prowess as a God gift. She said, “for me, my faith is the reason I run. I definitely feel I have this amazing gift that God has blessed me with, and it is all about using it to the best of my ability.”

Allyson Felix attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School in North Hills, California. She is the 2012 Olympic champion in the 200 metres event, a 3-time World Champion (2005-2009), and a 2-time Olympic silver medal winner (2004 and 2008). In the 4×400 metres relay at the 2015 World Championships, Felix ran the fastest split ever by an American woman, and the third fastest of all-time after Jarmilla Kratochvilova and Marita Koch with 47.72. She is a participant in the United States Anti-Doping Agency’s “Project Believe” program, and gets regularly tested for performance-enhancing drugs. Her coach is Bobby Kersee.
