Born on December 13, 1950 as Wendy Malick in Buffalo, New York, she is an American actress and former fashion model, famous for her appearances in television comedies. Her paternal grandfather was an Egyptian from a Coptic Christian family, and her other ancestry is French, German and English. She graduated from Williamsville, South High School in 1969. After her graduation from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio in 1972, she started fashion modelling for Wilhelmina Modelling Agency. She then left to work for the Republican Congressman Jack Kemp. She soon left Washington DC to pursue a career in stage and screen acting. She started working as an actress in the 1982 movie A Little Sex.
