Born on February 27, 1972 (died on January 19, 2010), as Jennifer “Jenn” Jane Lyon, she was an American actress and a competitor on Survivor: Palau. She ended up at the fourth place in the competition. Jennifer was born in Nevada, but, raised in Washington and The Dalles, Oregon. She loved hiking, playing soccer, and photography. She was 18-years-old when Jennifer learned Spanish after participating in the foreign exchange program around 1990. After she graduated from high school, Jennifer spent a year in Spain and another two years in London where she worked as a nanny. Upon her return to the United States, she attended the Portland State University and spent a year there until attending Western Oregon State College before being sent to Oregon State University. She later received a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and food management.

Lyon was selectd for Survivor: Palau, the tenth season of Survivor in the year 2004. The season went on air in Spring 2005 and started with all the 20 players on the same beach. During the tribe division, Gregg Carey chose her to be on the Koror tribe. She however, picked Coby Archa to be a tribe member. Koror eventually proved to be the dominant tribe, and won every tribal immunity challenge. During the period, she started a showmance with Carey.Lyon was placed in the first ever Final Four fire making tie-breaker challenge against Rosenberger. She was beaten in the challenge and it put her on the jury. At the Final Tribal Council she voted for Westman to win the game.

She was living in Encino, California when in the year 2005, Lyon was diagnosed with a stage three breast cancer and she later started blogging about her disease and treatment. In December 2009, Lyon opened a Christmas tree lot with her boyfriend Dion, mother and father, Larry and Jane Lyon, and her two nephews, Tyler Lyon and Mikel Lyon, and donated all the profits to the Susan Love Cancer Research Foundation. In January, she moved to a place on the Hood River in Oregon.

Lyon succumbed to cancer on the January 19, 2010 that had returned from remission and had metastasized to the bone. She was the first Survivor cast member to die. The special Surviving Survior, aired on Thursday, February 4, 2010, barely two weeks after her death was dedicated to her. The reunion episode of Survivor:Heroes Vs. Villains featured a video montage of moments from Lyon’s time on Survivor: Palau.
